ENGLEWOOD MAN CHARGED WITH ARSON

Englewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JONATHAN A. ROSSI (DOB:2/18/1998; single; auto parts store employee) of 150 Tryon Avenue, Apartment A5, Englewood, NJ on charges of Arson, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Fair Lawn Police Department under the direction of Chief Glen Cauwels.

On Thursday, April 9, 2020, the Fair Lawn Police reported a fire at a residence in Fair Lawn, NJ. The fire was extinguished and deemed suspicious. At that time, the Fair Lawn Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Unit and an investigation was initiated. As a result of the investigation, on Monday, May 18, 2020, JONATHAN A. ROSSI was arrested and charged with one count of Arson, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:17-1b(2), a 3rd degree crime; one count of Criminal Trespass, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:18-3a, a 4th degree crime; and one count of Criminal Mischief, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:17-3a(1), a 4th degree crime. He was released subject to non-monetary conditions following his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Fair Lawn Police Department and the Bergen County Arson Task Force for their assistance in this investigation.
