Teaneck NJ, Teaneck police reported that multiple units responded to an incident at a Tyron Avenue residence at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, where four adults were discovered to have been assaulted and restrained. According to a police release, earlier that day, three men had entered the residence through a back door, with two of them carrying firearms. The assailants proceeded to assault and bind the victims before making off with personal belongings. The authorities have not disclosed the specific items stolen or their value. The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps provided on-site treatment for the victims’ minor injuries. The Teaneck Police Department, along with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, is actively investigating the incident and pursuing all available leads. Hackensack NJ, after a bomb scare at a Fair lawn Synagogue, Sheriff Anthony Cureton held a security briefing to discuss public safety precautions for the upcoming Jewish High Holy (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) Season. Representatives from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, local police chiefs and members of the Jewish community were present as Rabbi Joel Friedman offered an overview of traditions and expectations for the Jewish High Holy Season. Hackensack NJ, three individuals from Brooklyn, New York, were charged today in connection with a kidnapping for ransom that left a teenager with stab wounds after a dispute over a drug transaction, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.
Glen Rock NJ, on Friday January 27th at 5:27 PM , Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to the Glen Rock High School on a 9-1-1 report that a shooting had just taken place. Responding officers met with school security personnel, who were present for an athletic event at the gym and were unaware of any problem at the school. Officers cleared the school building and determined that this was a swatting incident. There had been no gun shots fired nor any other act of violence.
Englewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of WILLIAM HERNANDEZ (DOB: 2/16/1991; single; cashier) of Englewood, NJ on aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley.
Fort Lee NJ, according to the Fort Lee Police Department earlier this afternoon(Tuesday) there was a law enforcement incident in the area of Palisade Avenue and Whiteman Street. The area is safe. At no time was there a threat to any of our schools. Law enforcement officials remain on scene at this time. Whiteman Street is closed to traffic between Gerome Avenue and Palisade Avenue.
