Enjoy Ridgewood’s Central Business District for the Holidays

Ridgewood NJ, with Thanksgiving almost here and the Christmas holiday season is fast approaching , there will be many events in the Central Business District in Ridgewood , giving everyone an opportunity to support local business and catch up with old friends.

November 24th and 25th – All Village departments and offices will be closed on November 24th and November 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  There will be no garbage or recycling pickup on November 24th, and the Recycling Center will also be closed.  On November 25th, there will be garbage and recycling pickup and the Recycling Center will be open.

November 26th – 12 Noon – 3:00 p.m. – Memorial Park at Van Neste Square – The Ridgewood Guild’s 13th Annual Winterfest – Come and kick off the holiday season with The Ridgewood Guild at this annual event.  There will be ice sculptures, storytelling, carolers, a horse-drawn carriage ride, a trackless train, and free hot chocolate, cookies, and candy canes.  Santa Claus will also be there, so you can take a picture with him during the event.

November 26th – All day – Ridgewood’s Historic Business District – Small Business Saturday – Come and do your holiday shopping, then stay for a meal or grab a coffee and a treat from one of our many eateries.  Support our local businesses on Small Business Saturday, and throughout the holiday season.

December 2nd – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – East Ridgewood Avenue, from Maple Avenue to Broad Street – The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Downtown for the Holidays – Come to the East Side, the West Side, and all around the Central Business District for this family friendly annual event, where the streets are closed to vehicles on East Ridgewood Avenue.  There will be Village Trucks on Holiday, from all Village Departments, decorated for the holiday season; make your own s’mores at the fire pits in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square with the Village Recreation and Fire Departments; come and see The Grinch with the Ridgewood Police Department; listen to the bands; go through the decorated pedestrian tunnel to the West Side, for more decorated trucks, bands, and a Kid’s Corner with activities; and see Santa Claus in various locations throughout the evening. Finally, take a picture at the Christmas tree, located at the corner of East Ridgewood Avenue and Broad Street, so that you can remember this wonderful evening, as you enjoy the holiday spirit in Ridgewood’s Central Business District.
