Dispute Near Fairleigh Dickinson in Teaneck Prompts Shelter in Place for the Metropolitan Campus

Teaneck NJ, according to officials , students and staff at the Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan campus in Teaneck were ordered to shelter in place Wednesday afternoon after a fight broke out and a BB gun was discovered.

According to Teaneck Police Chief Glenn O’Reilly , two men were involved in  a fight and one chased the other through the college campus. Teaneck Police officers recovered a BB gun along with a machete sheath.

The shelter in place order was issued as a precaution, and according to Chief O’Reilly  ,“The incident did not start on the campus, and did not involve any students,”

FDU spokeswoman Dina Schipper said Teaneck police were investigating the incident. “The Metropolitan Campus community has been alerted to shelter in place until further notice,” the spokeswoman said.

No arrests were made, and no injuries were reported  and the shelter in place has since been lifted.
