OAKLAND, NJ — A Bergen County family of three has been displaced following a dangerous late-night house fire on West Oakland Avenue that saw local firefighters battle blinding smoke and intense flames.
Thanks to the rapid response and bravery of first responders, crew members made entry through the front door under severe conditions to quickly bring the blaze under control.
Zero Visibility: Firefighters Push Through Thick Smoke
Upon arriving on the scene, crews from the Oakland NJ Volunteer Fire Department encountered heavy fire pouring from the rear of the residence.
Despite zero-visibility conditions inside caused by thick, blinding smoke, firefighters pushed directly through the front door, located the seat of the fire, and successfully extinguished the blaze before it could completely consume the structure.
