Paramus NJ, a high-speed police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended early yesterday morning with five Newark teens, aged 14 to 19, now facing multiple charges.
Police Spot Stolen Mercedes on Route 17
The incident began when Paramus police identified a stolen Mercedes traveling along Route 17. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply, sparking a dangerous pursuit.
Chase Extends Onto Garden State Parkway
The suspects, including Zi-Yahna Howard and Jason Thomas, both over 18, fled onto the Garden State Parkway, accelerating to evade police. During the pursuit, the stolen vehicle collided with two police cars, further escalating the situation.
Suspects Attempt to Flee on Foot
After officers successfully forced the vehicle to a stop, the suspects attempted to flee on foot, but they were quickly apprehended.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the full list of charges, but the group is expected to face auto theft, eluding police, and resisting arrest charges.
Ongoing Investigation

Instead of letting them go so they can steal more cars, let’s incarcerate them and then make them work in the fields to harvest crops when we don’t have enough migrants to do the job. They need to know what it’s like to work.
