The National Weather Service has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of northeast New Jersey,including the following areas, Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Hudson,and Union.
* Through this evening.
* Recent heavy rainfall has left the area susceptible to flash flooding.
* A moisture laden airmass will allow for any showers and thunderstorms that develop to produce torrential rainfall.
* The most favorable time for widespread heavy precipitation is in the afternoon and evening.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
