Flash Flood Warnings Issued Across North Jersey as Severe Storms Cause Power Outages and Road Closures

Ridgewood NJ, Multiple flash flood warnings were issued early Sunday morning across northern New Jersey as severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall swept through the region.
With torrential downpours bringing rainfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour, local authorities issued flash flood watches for most of New Jersey, warning residents of rapidly rising waters and hazardous driving conditions.
Regional Flash Flood Warnings in Effect
Emergency services put several county-wide warnings into place during the height of the storm:

Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic Counties: Flash flood warnings were active through 9:30 a.m.

Morris County: A separate flash flood warning remained in effect until 10:00 a.m.
Local stream channels and low-lying roadways quickly became overwhelmed by runoff as torrential conditions persisted throughout the morning.
Ridgewood Updates: West Glen Avenue Road Closure and Power Outage
In Ridgewood, severe weather caused localized property damage and utility disruptions.
A large tree limb brought down power lines at the intersection of West Glen Avenue and North Monroe Street, forcing officials to close the roadway to all traffic. The falling wires caused a localized power outage in the immediate neighborhood.
Crews from PSE&G arrived on the scene to assess the structural damage and successfully restored power to affected residents in approximately two hours.

Safety Reminders from Local Law Enforcement
Following the storm damage on West Glen Avenue, the Ridgewood Police Department issued a safety warning to all residents:
“Do not approach or come into contact with downed power lines.”
Residents are encouraged to report any remaining utility hazards or flooded roadways to local emergency dispatchers immediately. Further updates will be provided as weather conditions stabilize.

At least 8 inches in Glen Rock. Gauge was overflowing at the 7 inch point, and when I realized it had topped and emptied it, at least another inch came down before it slowed down.
I would say that was between about 0800 and 1100. Radar seemed to show the heaviest rain just lingered over my neighborhood. A couple miles away, the radar echoes were not as strong.
