* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– A strong storm system will impact the area Tuesday night into
Wednesday with the likelihood of heavy rainfall. Rainfall
amounts of 2 to 3 inches with localized higher amounts are
possible during this time. This combined with a snowpack
across portions of the watch area along with saturated
grounds will lead to rapid runoff into area rivers and
streams. There is good chance for widespread flooding.

  4. They cannot and will not actually addrress the real issue. It will keep happening and they will keep paying vendors and turf companies to repair and replace. It is just insane.

    1. It is a business model. Imagine if we had grass fields only, if we decided to regularly clean the HHK brook bed and expand the flow path in case of heavy rainfalls , if we did tree pruning and maintenance instead of cutting whole mature curbside trees because a few branches are bad, if we enforced the private property tree cutting, etc etc etc. If we did these simple things then Downes wouldn’t be making $$$, turf “specialists” and vendors wouldn’t be filling up their bags, kick backs wouldn’t be really very satisfying. I mean, 65% of this town votes for a senator that keeps gold bars in coat and votes someone with major biz interests in town as the mayor. It’s Nu Jersey.

  5. We’re turning into Venice. Isn’t that wonderful? Thank you peeve & co for making our city so desirable to live. And please keep up the good work with cutting trees around our city. They get in the way of water and are not a pretty sight.

  6. I’m sure the village spends a good hundred thousand or more every year on field repair, and that’s just from flooding we’re not talking about maintenance. And remember the fields only good for about 10 to 12 years so can you imagine what this is going to cost and replacing down the road, this is what happens when you have Rolls-Royce playing fields. Before people used to complain because we had Cadillac fields, now look.

  8. What makes you think it will flood? 😃
