Ridgewood NJ, former Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli joined Price, Meese, Shulman and D’Arminio, which is headquartered in Woodcliff Lake and has offices in White Plains, N.Y.. in November when he was unceremoniously pushed out by the Christie administration after a series of high-profile case losses.
To many Ridgewood residents the name Price, Meese, Shulman and D’Arminio rings a bell .Price, Meese, Shulman and D’Arminio is the firm of former Ridgewood planning board attorney Gail Price.
Interesting that Mollineli now works for Gail Price. He’s also the guy that cut a deal with the Ridgewood quarter thief, Ricca.
Rica, a Hawthorne resident, will pay back just under $250,000 of the $460,000 he admitted stole under a plea agreement.
Thomas Rica known in the Village of Ridgewood as ‘coin boy” or the “meter thief” was convicted and sentenced for stealing nearly 2 million quarters from the Ridgewood parking system.
Initially, Rica paid a $64,337.55 down payment, to be followed by $2,000 a month in monthly payments over the five years he will serve probation. Ricca also agreed to forfeit his $30,000 pension as part of the plea deal and $4,000 Ridgewood seized from his home. Shockingly Rica received no jail time .
Mollineli the Bergen County prosecutor at the time was later forced out of office .
Sounds like he landed in the right place.
Wink-wink !
Can there be a retrial? Isn’t there a way appealing for a new trial on grounds that the punishment does not fit the crime. This matter should definitely be taken to a higher court. It’s ridiculous. There are similar crimes all over New Jersey and the U.S. where the punishment was much harsher for lesser amounts of coins stolen. Isn’t that a legal precedent?
And the wheels on the bus go round and round.
I don’t get it. what dots are you trying to connect exactly? A local Bergen County lawyer goes to work at a local Bergen County firm.–this is news? and how exactly the quarter thing tied into this?
Something here stinks.
has rica paid back any money and if so how much??
Why isn’t Rica in jail? He admitted to stealing at least $460,000 from the Village. A forensic accountant thinks it was more like $850,000 that has gone missing. One person could not have done this alone, so why aren’t Tommy Boy’s accomplices also taking the rap?
molinelli was obviously told to cut a deal for coin boy – but why? and by whom?
Maybe the new Council will be willing to get to the bottom of the coin theft unlike the previous Council and Manager?
coin boy new a lot dirt up at the top. aka, the boys club. others new, let’s stop the bull shit. and it’s more then 850,grand,over a cool mill. he got a deal of a life time. the top managers know more then what they are talking about, right fat man.
Crime pays in NJ
Prosecutors overuse PTI and criminals walk scott free.
They make two restitution payments and then all is forgotten…
