Fort Lee NJ, early Monday evening, personnel from our Fort Lee Police Department Drone Team and Patrol Division assisted our Fort Lee Fire Department at this fire scene. The Drone Team provided the command post with real time, aerial footage as well as infrared footage to assist Command Staff Personnel, in their decision making process.
“This afternoon around 4:45pm, all 4 fire companies were dispatched to 2068 Jones Road for a reported structure fire. Chief Peluso and Battalion Chief Klein called responding & the fire was confirmed by LT. Phil Craddock who was driving on the 1&9 overpass and saw the smoke. Chief Peluso immediately called for Comm Center to re-tone out the department on a general alarm, dispatch a mutual aid ladder truck for a
FAST Team, and mutual aid coverage to Company 3 to standby if needed / protect the town. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes, the structure was checked for extension and no further fire damage was found. There was very minor smoke damage to a small portion of the 1st floor near the fire room. The fire was contained to one room & contents.
PSEG was requested to secure gas & electric, OEM was summoned to relocate the residents. VAC was summoned for fire standby. Fort Lee Police Department responded for street closures & their drone unit. DW responded to salt the street afterwards. Fire prevention was summoned for the fire investigation.”
