Ridgewood NJ, on November 9, 2022, at 2:55 p.m., the Park Ridge Ridge Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire on Henry Avenue. Within moments the Park Police Department arrived on the scene and confirmed a fire at the residence. The Park Ridge Ridge Fire Department Engine 2 arrived on the scene and stretched a hose line to extinguish the fire.
Initially, Deputy Chief Durst requested mutual aid from the Montvale Fire Department, who assisted with ventilating the roof, and the Woodcliff Lake Fire Department, who arrived on the scene and placed additional hose lines in service. At this time, the fire had entered the home’s attic area, and the crews were working to open the ceiling area of the residence to access the fire.
Additional mutual aid from the Hillsdale Fire Department and River Vale Fire Department was requested to assist with the fire.
Four firefighters were injured and transported to local hospitals during the fire suppression efforts. All the firefighters are considered to be in stable condition.
