Fun Vacation Activities to Do When in California

California is the state of dreams, the home of Disneyland, Barbie dolls, and Apple Computers. Besides being one of the largest states in the USA, California is known for its sunny beaches, forests, and unique adventures. It’s diverse in culture as much as it is in the landscape. This city offers a little bit of everything and you will not be able to see all it has to offer even if you live your whole life exploring it. Another thing to keep in mind is if you’re a fan of Avocados, then this is the state for you; they even have an Avocado festival every year. Here are a few fun activities that you can enjoy when in California.

Go Nature Gazing

The best thing about this state is that it is filled with deserts, forests, and the sea. If nature gazing is your kind of thing, then make sure you visit the world’s oldest tree. It is located in a forest just outside of the big pine, so you will be able to see it along with pine trees surrounding it. Another thing that California is known for. You can also walk the cypress tree tunnel and enjoy the trees seeming to close on you as you walk or drive. It’s an outstanding feeling.

Visit Chinatown

San Francisco’s Chinatown is the largest and the oldest in the USA. The state is known as the golden state, and it’s Chinatown offers a lot of interesting things to see like the golden gate fortune cookie factory. You will enjoy the festivals, parades, fireworks, and excellent food in this town, so make sure you don’t miss it. If it’s your kind of thing to experience the underground and local communities, then you will enjoy this part of California more than anything else. There’s something about the dark bars, temples, and art galleries that you will find charming.

Explore the Beaches

Did you know that California is the first state where surfing culture became popular? There are many beaches where you can visit to explore its beauty and enjoy fun, adventurous, and fun sports. Surfrider Beach in Malibu is the best beach to learn how to surf, and there are plenty of other options for beach activities, paddle boarding in Santa Barbara will offer an even more unique experience. You will find shops across the road that provide rentals, gear, and supplies. You can also sign up for private lessons with a local instructor and master beach activities while you’re there.

Visit Death Valley

If that’s your sort of thing, Death Valley, California is one of the hottest deserts on earth in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. If you drive there you will have so much fun and just driving on the highway is a life-changing experience. You will get to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, and the place will remind you of a lot of movies because many Hollywood blockbuster movies were shot there. In spring, almost the whole valley is filled with flowers, maybe you’re lucky enough to get to see that.

Try Wine Tasting

The best wine in the world is made in California, and even though this sounds like a ridiculous piece of information, if you have been there, you will notice that the best winemakers in the world are up and down the coast of California. You will find many wineries and tasting rooms to visit if that is your kind of thing.

Experience a Lot of Mexico

California shares a border with Mexico, which makes it the perfect city in America for you to start trying out Mexican food. You will get to eat a lot of that in California, but what is even better is that you can walk across the border, buy some souvenirs, drink at a brewery, and walk back into California. Doesn’t that sound like so much fun?

California is the land where art meets technology and is filled with places that you can enjoy going to in Hollywood and parks for your children to run around and feel free all day long. Whether this is the first time for you to visit California or the 100th, you will enjoy every bit of the city every time you set foot in it. The space is incredible, it’s not very crowded and has one of the best and most suitable climates all year round. Make sure you make the best out of your vacation there and make sure you visit as many places as possible. I would advise you against deciding to stop only for a couple of days in California and head elsewhere. You will be missing a lot!
