A Glen Rock sergeant who was out on bail while facing charges that he sent sexually explicit texts to two teenage girls has been arrested again, this time on charges that he tried to sell guns that had been surrendered to the Glen Rock Police Department.

Sgt. Eric Reamy, 51, is a 27-year veteran of the department and was the Evidence Officer in charge of the department’s Detective Bureau. He allegedly took custody of several handguns and rifles and tried to sell them at two gun stores “as though they were his own property,” Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said in a release.

A laptop and a pellet gun, which should have been secured in evidence, also were found at his previous residence during the execution of a search warrant on Aug. 5, Molinelli said.

Reamy faces seven counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property received, all third-degree crimes.

  1. Making the tax payers of Glen Rock proud

  2. After 27 years in law enforcement he should know better.

How do they know that all his illegal activities started in 2015? Sounds like he was pretty comfortable in his job.

  3. After 1 day in law enforcement he should know better, let alone 27 years. I will always go to great lengths to defend our fine officers, but this guy appears to be a complete scumbag.

  4. I predict there will be even more revealed as time goes on.

  5. why hasn’t he been fired and stripped of his pension and health benefits?
