Ridgewood NJ, Glen Rock, Wyckoff and Midland Park have been stepping up their calls for a multi-town water commission to set water rates.
Glen Rock, Wyckoff and Midland Park have even recently petitioned state lawmakers to create a Municipal Utilities Authority to set water rates.
Along with the resolution, the Wyckoff Township Committee sent a letter to Governor Phil Murphy urging his administration to create an over site body .In the letter claimed Wyckoff claimed Ridgewood Water had “manipulated” a law allowing the village to transfer utility surplus into its own municipal budget as miscellaneous revenue and the surplus was generated by Ridgewood Water overcharges .The resolution was also highly critical of the Ridgewood Council.
For there part it has been well documented on this blog , that Village Council members have been critical of the fact that the three other rate-paying towns are not held to the same enforcement standard as Ridgewood residents and have been accused of flaunting conservation measures .
