Denver Co, Global Children Financial Literacy Foundation (GCFLF) launched its annual Wesley Learns financial literacy series book drive today and announced the anticipated title of the series’ fourth book: Wesley Learns About Real Estate. The book will be published April 2024.
This annual initiative raises funds and distributes the financial education series with particular focus on underserved and military communities across the country. This year’s goal is to raise $80,000 and distribute 4,000 books from the Wesley Learns series to schools, libraries, and community centers across the country. As part of the annual campaign, GCFLF will also provide stocks to children as a way to help them begin investing at a young age.
During a YouTube Live event today, GCFLF Co-Founder and CEO Prince Dykes said, “The Wesley Learns series is truly a labor of love. I based the main character after my own son, Wesley, and created the series to break the cycle of financial illiteracy that plagues so many families, including my own, when I was growing up. With resources like the Wesley Learns series, students receive an understanding of how to better prepare for financial success as an adult.” Mr. Dykes operates the Royal Financial Investment Group and was named on the Investopedia Top 100 Financial Advisors 2023. He also hosts the highly-rated podcast, The Investor Show.
The first three books of the series are Wesley Learns to Invest, Wesley Learns About Credit and Wesley Learns About Insurance, which features former Denver Bronco and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis. Mr. Davis and his family will also appear in the series’ fourth book. The series is designed for readers in sixth grade and older.
“Over the course of my career, I’ve gathered a lot of knowledge about financial literacy and have also seen what happens when individuals lack this education. It’s now my priority to equip young people with the lessons I’ve learned over the years.” said Mr. Davis. “I haven’t come across many books that accomplish what the Wesley Learns series does – explaining financial concepts in practical ways for children to understand. I love being a part of the Wesley Learns book series and am excited for the fourth book to be published next spring.”
The Wesley Learns book drive is on now through April 2024 and books are available in hardcover, paperback and ebook editions. To learn more about the Wesley Learns book series and GCFLF, and to support the drive, please visit https://www.gcflf.org/book-
