Sorvino, like Liotta, was a Jersey boy — he lived in Tenafly for about 15 years, starting in 1970. In 1987, with Ted Rawlins and Jim Singer, he co-founded the American Stage Company at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Though he ultimately relocated to Madison, Indiana, he always had great things to say about Tenafly.
“It’s a really good town with great services, great people,” he told The Record’s Bill Ervolino in 2018. “If you want to raise your kids in a suburb, it’s really a hell of a good town.” In fact, Sorvino did: His daughter, actor Mira Sorvino, went to Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, and his actor son Michael Sorvino went to Tenafly High School.
