Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 222. The Order extends the Public Health Emergency that was declared on March 9, 2020 through Executive Order No. 103, which was previously extended in 2020 on April 7, May 6, June 4, July 2, August 1, August 27, September 25, October 24, November 22, and December 21, and again in 2021 on January 19. Under the Emergency Health Powers Act, a declared public health emergency expires after 30 days unless renewed.
“Extending the public health emergency allows the Department of Health to continue its vaccination efforts, including prioritizing high-risk individuals, promoting adequate staffing at vaccination sites, and overseeing second dose administration,” said Governor Phil Murphy. “Today’s action gives us the ability to continue our ongoing COVID-19 mitigation efforts while also vaccinating New Jersey residents as quickly and safely as possible.”
Executive Order No. 222 extends all Executive Orders issued under the Governor’s authority under the Emergency Health Powers Act. It also extends all actions taken by any Executive Branch departments and agencies in response to the Public Health Emergency presented by the COVID-19 outbreak.

This is a joke. Saying that his administration is protecting high-risk individuals and overseeing second dose administration??? How many high risk have gotten the first. One signs up with the NJ.org state site and NOTHING happens. I’ve been waiting for over a month to hear back. I have registered at 6 places. Instead People are all frantically going on day/night to try and hunt the vaccine for themselves. People are lying to get vaccinated — some saying they are smokers when they are not. Why tell us to register when you are leaving it as a free for all? I’m in category 1B and all I get is “vaccine unavailable”…..I am an “at risk” over 60 person. People who “score” an appointment are driving over an hour to get a vaccine. This is ridiculous…where’s Murphy in this? Putting out statements that sound “hopeful’ and yet are ‘hopeless.” This is like a Seinfeld skit, “good at getting the vaccine (one thing Trump did well) but really bad at distributing it.” Shame on you Governor Murphy. You are pitting people against each other for a vaccine.
I am 67 and am totally and permanently disabled from a head on car accident on Nov 7, 1986, and I was the passenger. I do not have I e-mail or Internet access.
I do not know where I can get my shot. I am at high risk and this concerns me that I have not been able to get vaccinated.
I need a home visit.
how are you posting on the Ridgewood blog?
At the rate people are getting vaccine appointments the governor will be extending this until next year. Instead of publicly chastising NJ residents for living their live DO YOUR JOB!
Instead of chastising the people of NJ for living their lives DO YOUR JOB and get sufficient vaccines for the people.
Gates was right the government would screw up the distribution!
Prisoners and smokers, who both made stupid choices, before the regular taxpayers of the state.
I am 70 years old and I am RN still working with COVID positive patient in their home I live in cherry Hill Nj and work in PA. I can’t get a vaccine in either State. I am a front line worker. But if I lived in a Red State I would have my vaccine
There are many people living in the community that don’t have internet or transportation with underlining issues. I think the state should get some type of convoyed to come to their house with equipment to use there internet service or a medical van or bus to vaccinate them sad to say but there are a lot of disabled people like this in the community,,,,, especially with the weather bad like it is they need the help of the state
Just Take a look at Florida stats…stop the Stupidy and open up! New Jersey is dying because of these lockdown and suppression policies, As Florida never has shut down,,school has been open all year and they’re economy is flourishing! Take a look at Florida MURPH,,,FLORIDA!!
CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL.
