Hackensack, NJ — at approximately 10:30 PM, the Hackensack Fire Department 3rd Platoon, under the command of Deputy Chief M. Christensen, responded to a working fire on Fairmount Avenue near the Maywood border.
🚒 Quick Action Prevents Greater Damage
Crews arrived to find a fully involved first-floor bedroom fire. Thanks to rapid intervention, firefighters successfully prevented the flames from spreading to the second floor, containing the damage and protecting nearby structures.
👩🚒 Injuries Reported

Two occupants of the home sustained injuries:

One suffered serious injuries

Another sustained less severe injuries

One Hackensack firefighter was also injured during operations and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not been disclosed.
🔍 Investigation Underway
The Hackensack Fire Prevention Bureau is currently investigating the cause of the fire, though it is not considered suspicious at this time.
