
Hackensack Man Arrested: Bergen County Cyber Crimes Unit Uncovers Distribution of Child Abuse Material

HACKENSACK, NJ – A major investigation into the online distribution of illegal content has led to the arrest of 23-year-old Hackensack resident Jonnathan F. Ganan Taza, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced on April 10, 2026.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Taza’s residence, uncovering evidence that he used the internet to view, download, and distribute sexually explicit material involving children. Taza was apprehended in Paramus, NJ, and faces first-degree distribution and second-degree possession charges.
Following his arrest, Taza was remanded to the Bergen County Jail awaiting a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ. The investigation involved collaborative efforts from the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force, including the NYPD and local NJ police departments, with Prosecutor Musella reiterating that the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
