Ridgewood NJ, Teaneck officials reported that a Hackensack man allegedly trespassed at Heichal HaTorah high school in Teaneck and assaulted a security officer during a private celebration of Purim on Sunday.

The 29-year-old individual reportedly refused to leave the premises and punched the security guard while being escorted out, according to a press release from the Teaneck Police Department.

Although the security guard was unharmed, the man was arrested by Teaneck police and charged with fourth-degree criminal trespass and simple assault. While social media posts have alleged that the trespasser made antisemitic remarks during the incident, these remarks have not been confirmed by the investigation or reported by complainants, officials stated.

Teaneck Chief Andrew McGurr encourages anyone with information about the incident to contact the Teaneck Police Department at 201-837-2600.
