Hackensack NJ, Spending excessive time with your phone in hand, eyes constantly fixed on the screen, might be an indication of overindulgence in your social media feeds. While many believe that maintaining connections with friends through social media can have positive effects, the reality is that prolonged use of these platforms may elevate the risk of depression and anxiety.

Psychiatrist Ram Mahato, M.D., points out that a significant number of people initially joined social media for casual interactions but find themselves drawn deeper into it due to its constant availability, 24/7. What may have started as a simple way to stay in touch can unexpectedly lead to strong emotional reactions when reading and engaging with others’ posts. This can potentially contribute to the negative mental health consequences associated with excessive social media usage.

Apparently Hackensack Meridian Health needed to take their own advice when an unauthorized derogatory posts on Instagram over the middle east conflict caused a stir.

Hackensack Meridian Health removed the derogatory post and commented on Facebook, “We are committed to providing a safe and healing environment for all.”
