Cambridge MA , Harvard President Claudine Gay will resign Tuesday afternoon, bringing an end to the shortest presidency in the University’s history, according to a person with knowledge of the decision.
University Provost Alan M. Garber ’76 will serve as Harvard’s interim president during a search for Gay’s permanent successor, the Harvard Corporation — the University’s highest governing body — announced in an email on Tuesday.
Gay’s resignation — just six months and two days into the presidency — comes amid growing allegations of plagiarism and lasting doubts over her ability to respond to antisemitism on campus after her disastrous congressional testimony Dec. 5.
Gay weathered scandal after scandal over her brief tenure, facing national backlash for her administration’s response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack and allegations of plagiarism in her scholarly work.
Gay is expected to announced her decision to step down to Harvard affiliates in an email later today. The Corporation is also expected to make a statement about the decision.
The announcement comes three weeks after the Corporation announced unanimous support for Gay after “extensive deliberations” following the congressional hearing.

Civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton, who supports Gay, said her resignation is “an assault on the health, strength and future of diversity, equity and inclusion.”
Quite an assault. She gets to keep her salary and is not bounced from the school, so who are the fools here? She’ll still be polluting young “minds.”
Maybe I should write a resignation letter and send it to Harvard, and maybe they’ll give me a few hundred K…………………….

Well, not really, the board never said she had to leave. It’s 50+ failure to cite in her published docs that forced her hand.
True, but now that she’s out, the antisemitism virtue signaling has been moved back to the front burner and the plagiarism is delegated again to the back burner.
This is the result of promoting ‘color’ over ‘competence’
Any allegations of the multiple accusations of plagarism would have torpedoed a white male but she was given a ‘pass’… apparently many times
She wasn’t promoted for her color, per se, but for her adherence to certain shibboleths and compliance with her masters’ wishes. Unfortunately for her, she got a little too high on her own supply and made a very public stumble off the reservation temporarily.
She was given a pass many times and her plagiarism/incompetence (and who knows what else) has been known for a long time. It was never called into play before because it’s always been an insurance policy for situations just like this.
Call it what it actually is diversity gone to far! Her complexion is her protection. Gay shouldn’t have even qualify for the position. Boxes were checked woman, black, last name gay, liberal activist. Still she still retaining her $900,000 yr salary and will “teach” law at Harvard! She’s claiming racism. Gay has more fraudulent documents than Joe Biden! Hard to believe.

When liberals complain about the cost of college tuition, this is a perfect example of why its a waste of money. 900k per year to teach ‘african studies’? Sen Pocahontas reportedly gets/ or got 300k+ per year to ‘teach’ one class.
The professors that deserve a fair paycheck area those teaching math and science, not some bullshit courses
