Hasbrouck Heights NJ, Hasbrouck Heights firefighters demonstrated swift action Monday, December 30, when they rescued a driver trapped in a precariously tilted SUV after a crash on the Boulevard in front of Borough Hall.
A Rapid Response to a Serious Scene
The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. when a Jeep Wrangler collided with an Infiniti SUV, leaving the latter vehicle tipped on two wheels. Emergency responders, including Chiefs 61 and 62, Squad 1, and Engine 2, rushed to the scene after clearing a gas leak on Raymond Street.
Chief 62 assessed the situation, confirmed the driver was trapped, and called for a 10-30 emergency. Crews from Squad 1 and Engine 2 quickly stabilized the vehicle to prevent further risk and safely extricated the driver.
What Happened?
According to Hasbrouck Heights Police Lt. John Behr, the collision occurred as the Infiniti attempted to make a turn and was struck by the oncoming Jeep Wrangler.
No Serious Injuries Reported
Despite the dramatic nature of the crash and the driver’s entrapment, no serious injuries were reported, police confirmed.
