WALDWICK, NJ — Local authorities are on the hunt for suspects following a daring overnight burglary at a well-known Bergen County automotive hub.
On the morning of March 24, 2026, employees of the Auto Polishing Center (APC), located at 149 Franklin Turnpike, arrived to find their facility breached and two luxury vehicles missing from the premises.
The Investigation So Far
The Waldwick Police Department, in coordination with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Identification, spent the day processing the scene for forensic evidence. Preliminary reports suggest the thieves broke into the building overnight, specifically targeting high-end inventory.
Key details of the ongoing investigation include:
-
Targeted Theft: Two luxury vehicles were stolen during the breach.
-
Surveillance Review: Investigators are currently analyzing high-definition video footage from APC and neighboring businesses on Franklin Turnpike.
-
Business Status: The Auto Polishing Center remained closed on Tuesday to allow detectives to complete their sweep of the facility.
Local Impact and Safety
The owners of the stolen vehicles have been notified by the Waldwick PD. This incident follows a regional trend of high-end automotive thefts across Northern New Jersey, prompting local police to urge business owners and residents to audit their security systems.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles idling near Franklin Turnpike between midnight and 5:00 a.m. to contact the Waldwick Police Department immediately.

It’s amazing how they leave high-end cars outside in the parking lot.
they probably leave the keys in the ash tray or behind visor so the employees know where they are.
several thefts in my town of unlocked cars from the driveway with keys in them
Vehicles haven’t had ashtrays in them for years!
Sounds like the cars were inside.
Facility breached, seem like a lot of words for walking into a parking lot.
all roads lead to Newark
With all their overheads, big buildings, expensive washing equipment, taxes, employee salaries, etc., etc., why no alarm? It’s cheaper than having internet service. Something doesn’t add up. These guys have these expensive cars there almost daily, so they have integrated this business with some high-end car companies. These car companies don’t demand security? Something stinks..
Its a lawless society in NJ
Car thiefs are usually juveniles working for career criminals who know judges won’t do anything.
Maybe a slap on the wrist.. probation…
A carload comes up here from Newark.. Its easy pickings with no consequences
