Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ – A dramatic scene unfolded in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, this week as local emergency crews rushed to the scene of an overturned vehicle. On the afternoon of April 3rd, the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Mill Road following reports of a single-vehicle accident that left a car resting on its roof.
A Miraculous Escape on Mill Road
In a fortunate turn of events, the driver was able to self-extricate from the wreckage before units arrived. Despite the severity of the rollover, the driver was reported to be uninjured, a testament to modern vehicle safety and a bit of good luck.
Professional Response by Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteers
While the driver was safe, the scene remained hazardous. Ho-Ho-Kus fire crews operated on-site for approximately one hour to ensure the neighborhood remained safe. Their critical tasks included:
-
Securing the Vehicle: Stabilizing the car to prevent further movement or danger to recovery teams.
-
Fluid Spill Mitigation: Managing leaking automotive fluids to prevent environmental damage and fire risks on the roadway.
-
Scene Safety: Standing by and providing traffic control while the tow service performed the delicate task of righting and removing the vehicle.
The quick and professional response of our local volunteers ensured that Mill Road was cleared and reopened to traffic without further incident.
