Ridgewood NJ, Tuesday, February 12th and Monday, February 18th Village Offices will be closed in observance of the Lincoln’s Birthday and President’s Day holidays.. There will be no sanitation or recycling pickup on these days and the recycling center will also be closed.
It is idiotic to celebrate both Lincoln’s birthday and Presidents Day, which was created as a combined Lincoln’s and Washington’s birthday. If Lincoln’s birthday is correctly celebrated on Feb. 12, then Washington’s birthday should be celebrated on Feb. 22, as it used to be before everything except July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s got pushed to Mondays.
February 18th is “Washington’s Birthday” not “President’s Day”
