  1. That didn’t take too long.

  2. Everyone knew this would eventually happen, it was just a matter of time.

  3. Don’t worry the Council will look at the problem analyze it and make the proper correction. The Deputy Mayor has asked everyone to report to the meditation Room ASAP.

  4. Confused. How is this the fault of the improvement project?

  5. Yup. I’ve almost done it myself and I know it’s there.

  6. Good thing no one was I the crosswalk.

  7. We l #5 we will see if it’s the fault of the improvement project if the driver insurance co. sues the Village.

  8. Here is the proper headline.
“Some people just don’t know how to drive”

  9. Damn…I saw that on Saturday and said to myself: “Self, that’s not a good idea to place that little island out there in the middle of the road like that.”

The bicycle lane is ridiculously large (read: wide). The same is true with the bike lanes on Grove Street.

  10. #9 is right on the money to many people in the area drive like idiots. Only thing wrong here is the bike lane from nowhere to nowhere.

  11. #5, they deliberately placed the post far out so drivers would slow down to go around it (so called traffic easing measure), but in reality you need to turn wide and I have seen many cars end up in the bike lane. Good thing there are no actual bikers in the bike lane or they would have been hit.

  12. that hole site is so fucked up. who came up with that. waste of money, and it looks like shit. every one new that was going to happen. ha, ha, great thinking burn outs in village hall.

  13. I like the bike lane. I actually use it. The old road was a mess. It isn’t a road to nowhere. It gets me through a section where cars were trying to run me over

  14. “Some have called the accident…”

Meaning: this blog writer has started saying this in order to stir up another faux controversy in the Village.

    1. when the ‘traffic easing “slows down emergency vehicles then we can hear you talk

  15. “Another faux controversy?” (I love your french, or is that RUSSIAN?) Are you suggesting that all Village of Ridgewood controversies are false?

This project was a ridiculous undertaking to begin with, and it was a TRUE controversy, bringing residents from all over the place to speak up and speak out. It cost a fortune and the outcome is a disaster and it never needed to be done in the first place.

Come on, we want to hear what all the FAUX CONTROVERSIES are, please, do enlighten us as to what problems that upset the residents of Ridgewood should be dismissed as FAUX. This is so arrogant, so typical of three particular elected officials, just write off the taxpayers and their legitimate concerns as being beneath consideration.

  16. to # 16 what are you saying.

  17. They should have taken the money that they used on that project and build a meditation room in Village Hall. This would be used for any residents that have any faux controversy . The room would be mandatory for any residents to use before they speak at the public portion of the Council that is unless you agree with 100% of what that Council is doing. In that case you can skip the room and go right to the podium . The only thing that Albert has not figured out is how long do residents have to meditate to change their mind.

  19. Although I think the whole start-stop-change construction project was another absurd waste of money when a simple re-paving was all that was necessary, I have to agree that this was a simple case of crappy driving. Driving standards are not what they were, and never a single day goes by where I don’t experience an almost-crash because some nitwit is doing something instead of being focused on their driving. Not only do you have to watch out for the craters in the road, but you also have to simultaneously watch out for drivers like this one.

    That’s greek to me

  21. Part of the problem is that almost no one comes out into an intersection and makes a turn close to 90 degrees. Everyone is cutting off the corners at 45 degrees and almost clipping other cars in the process. I had the entire front end of my car taken off while sitting at a red light by someone in too big of a rush to proceed into the intersection and make a proper turn.

  22. No #22 its Russian for Alberts benefit

  23. thats nice #14…..as soon as I c u in that frickin lane I’m gonna run your ass over.
Use the underpass like everyone has for years…,.

Good thing babies weren’t playing with puppies in the middle of the street.

  25. Are you happy now #27. You got it off your chest

  26. Did you read all those big words, #28? It’s a little discouraging.

Still doesn’t make sense to post it in this thread though, #27. Most Ridgewood folks are quite aware of The Economist and read that when the issue hit their mailboxes.
