MAHWAH, NJ — Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, alongside representatives from the New Jersey Department of Agriculture (including Deputy Assistant Secretary Atchison) and members of the NJ Board of Agriculture, recently visited the Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization (MEVO) Fresh Roots Farm to observe its innovative organic farming and sustainability practices firsthand.
Located within the scenic Campgaw Mountain Reservation, MEVO’s Fresh Roots Farm stands as a premier example of community-driven environmental stewardship and successful governmental-community partnership.
What Makes Fresh Roots Farm Unique?

Green Acres Partnership: The two-acre educational farm was jointly developed with Bergen County and operates on preserved Green Acres land.

40+ Crop Varieties: Fresh Roots grows over 40 varieties of crops using 100% organic practices.
