Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood resident  Boyd Loving mentioned on Facebook some interesting details on his Ridgewood Water bill.

Boyd said ,”We just received our water bill for the period 10/16/2017 through 01/16/2018. By some strange coincidence, our water consumption for the noted period was the EXACT SAME as it was for the period 07/17/2017 through 10/16/2017. We were billed the EXACT SAME amount this month as we were in October (rightfully so considering our consumption was the exact same)

However, the bill also indicates that we had significantly overpaid our previous bill, leaving us with a credit. I just reviewed our checking account statement and determined that we DID NOT overpay our last bill; we paid what we were billed to the penny.

Has anyone else received a water bill this month in which your consumption matched what you used from July through October last year, and with a credit due to an “over payment?”

I wonder if Ridgewood Water’s billing system is screwed up again?”

  1. Sell the water co.

  2. When is the Village Council ever going to realize that it’s time to outsource all water company related functions to an outside source? Retain the Village’s ownership of the system infrastructure, but let a company with experience in managing such an operation run the damn thing.

  3. “Retain the Village’s ownership of the system infrastructure” Thats whats falling apart. More money down the pipes.

  4. Agree with 1210s. Ridgewood can’t efficiently handle the businesses it’s already in, like parking. Sell the utility and pass on buying the elks building. Less government and patronage.

  5. Imagine the look on the supervisors face when they learn that of all the people in Ridgewood they messed up Boyd’s water bill? HA! Of all 25000 people, you had to choose him? So much for special local service and knowing your priority customers.

  6. Great – something else to check….

  7. The water taste went down the tube ‘s,

  8. On Facebook it is reported that this got resolved. Or at least some
    of it did.

  9. Thank you Boyd for making us aware
To check our water bills and compare
So many times through the decades
You’ve alerted the town to mistakes they’ve made
When you speak out at Village Hall
Your comments ring true and benefit us all!

  10. Stop bitching all the time. They measure by range not by the drop.

  11. Did they fix the water taste .

  12. 8:41 Doth protest a bit too much? there’s history here of overcharge billing
big time…this is the only water facility we have…it’s not the dog license department we all just blow off and move on from…

  13. I have been enjoying my chlorine tea.
