Ridgewood NJ, the Ethics Policies of the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) include the fact that any board member with an immediate family member or relative who is employed in the district may not participate in any aspect of negotiations, nor may that board member vote on the approval of the MOA (Memorandum of Understanding). To do so would amount to a violation of N.J.S.A.18A:12-24(b) and (c). According to the NJSBA definition, a domestic partner is considered to be a relative. A domestic partnership is a relationship, usually between couples, who live together and share a common domestic life, but are not married (to each other or to anyone else).
During at least two recent meetings of the Ridgewood Board of Education, and in relation to membership on the Negotiating Committee, one trustee stated emphatically that he has no immediate family member who works for the District. However that same individual failed to mention anything about a relative working for the District.(per the definition in the Ethics Policies). This, according to the clear guidelines of the NJSBA, would disqualify him from participation in any negotiations.

Dani is the smartest person in the room. and clearly serves not only students, the board, superintendent and students. It is clear.

why not? he has saved Ridgewood taxpayers a lot and is always looking in the right direction for everyone. Lembo is unethical and it is clear that his lack of discretion where personal matters and his behaviour are concerned are an issue. State your concerns. Simply saying you don’t trust someone is super shady.
If you really listen to his answers many he fills his responses with lots of data and it sounds good, but on the administrator turnover- why not say yes, we have had turnover if re-elected I will work to bring stability in leadership by supporting our new superintendent. Instead he talks about turnover in the past 12 months county wide. Ridgewood’s exodus began and continued in 2020 and continued into 2022?
He also compares the Village Council to the BOE referring to
processes – they are two separate institutions with different governing documents. He should understand that by now.
When new superintendent comes, the turnover is expected. He needs to build his own team and the union is trying to preemptively create an atmosphere and fear about turnover. The new superintendent needs his authority to clean the house!

They should hold the mayor or Ridgewood for the same type of ethics violations. He owns businesses in town and should not be voting on a ything CBD related.

Dani is a pompous ass. Apparently, he’s responsible for everything that’s good (in his mind) and nothing negative like administrative turnover under his watch sticks to him. McKenna/Micale, that’s my vote.
I think Dani is the furthest thing from a pompous ass. He is smart, direct and knows what he is doing. Micale is a grandstander as was evident from last night. The union favorites are troublesome and the 2 guys don’t have the street cred to be able to handle something of this magnitude.
Re the ethics violation – any further definition of “relative”? If you go back far enough, we are all related.
Dani is certainly not a pompous ass. This must be Lembos girlfriend posting. Dani is downright humble. And highly successful as a trustee.
