Emerson NJ, a serious two-vehicle crash on Old Hook Road in Emerson on Tuesday morning, September 3rd, led to a significant emergency response. Four ambulances, two paramedic vehicles, and two fire department heavy rescue teams were dispatched to the scene in the 400 block of Old Hook Road.
The collision involved a white SUV traveling westbound on Old Hook Road, which appeared to have broadsided a blue SUV exiting a nearby medical office building. The impact caused the blue SUV to flip onto its side, trapping the occupants inside. Firefighters had to use the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the individuals from the overturned vehicle.
Old Hook Road was closed in both directions near the crash site as emergency responders worked to assist the victims. All those involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals by ambulance for further treatment. Both heavily damaged SUVs were later removed from the scene by flatbed tow trucks.
Personnel from the Emerson Police Department, Emerson Fire Department, Westwood Police Department, and Westwood Fire Department were all actively involved in the response. Multiple EMS providers were also on hand to offer medical assistance to the injured parties.
