Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, a multiple-alarm fire broke out late Monday morning, October 28, in a mixed-use building on North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus, severely damaging at least one second-floor apartment and causing significant fire, smoke, and water damage to the commercial businesses on the first floor.
Firefighters from Ho-Ho-Kus were swiftly on the scene, with additional assistance from nearby fire departments across Northwest Bergen County. Police from neighboring towns were also called in by the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department to manage road closures and help keep the area safe.

The building was evacuated, and initial reports indicate that everyone made it out safely. Authorities advised drivers to steer clear of the area surrounding Sheridan Ave, North Maple, and Franklin Turnpike and to find alternate routes.
As the community awaits updates on the full extent of the damage, Ho-Ho-Kus officials and neighboring fire departments continue to work together to secure the scene and assist those affected.

The entire top floor is gone and the bottom heavily damaged. The fire department is only a block away, but they are volunteer. Maybe it took some time for them to get there
You think? At least Ridgewood has a few full-timers on duty all the time.
This is what the voters decided.
We in Ridgewood are incredibly fortunate to have a paid fire department.
