Ridgewood NJ,Mango Jam in Ridgewood is closing it’s doors after 20 years . It was announced on a Facebook post on March 3rd.
Posted on Facebook earlier this week:
“OH NO! After 20 years Mango Jam is closing it’s doors. It’s time for retirement !!! Beginning tomorrow, March 4th we will begin our storewide sale 30%-50% off. Come in and see us!!! Here’s some picks for you all to enjoy. Many fond memories of season’s past. So many great customers over the years. I will continue on with Mango Interiors doing interior design. Also, with The Ridgewood Guild at our new home at 55A E. Ridgewood Ave., above Victor’s Clothing store.”
Glad we’re building that garage….
Watch; he’ll open a store in Glen Rock and then start complaining about the lack of parking there.
Guild membership dues will still keep trickling.. so it’s all good.
If only they could hang on until garage was built. Business be booming.
Landlords/dev are greedy and hold an upper hand to the guild, CBD, VC. Fix that problem
Good riddance to a little man who did nothing to help fellow businesses, pushed for the un-needed garage, and insulted taxpayers who spoke up about the alarming costs of the garage. A well known ‘rules are for other people’ guy from employee parking to village bylaws. Will not be missed.
If I was going to have a store I would have it at the new mall in the Meadow lands. There’s going to be a lot of foot traffic & people spending the whole day there. If you’re going to spend the money for rent you Need to be at a place where there’s a lot of foot traffic. And plenty of free parking. Retail is a hard business. So much competition going on especially the Internet. Especially now people feel safe at home shopping clean and safe.
Good. So there will be more available parking on Broad now that this business owner will no longer be taking up a prime spot every damn day.
Glen Rock has a lot of FREE parking. They could use a few more interesting stores. For dry cleaners, bank, post office, CVS and train to NYC (not a commuter) I prefer Glen Rock
Tony Damiano, the self appointed guru of style. Oh horrors, that store is ghastly orange. Oh no, that citizen is chewing gum. Oh the world is ending, that store’s sign is garish. Big buyo Damiano
I was in there a few months ago. I women who was obviously neurologically different came in to apply for a job he was advertising. He was so rude to her; I could literally feel his distain. It was as if he was appalled she even existed and had the nerve to come into his (shitty) store looking for work .
It’s being built…no one cares what you think anymore.
I am SO SAD to see you closing your store.
How I love and cherish all the lovely items I purchased at Mango Jam…!!!
Friends were so pleased when I brought a hostess gift, wrapped so perfectly, from the store.
The last of the special gift shops around!!!
I wish you “THE BEST” on your retirement
