Mayor Knudsen Gives Village of Ridgewood COVID19 Update

Hello everyone,
First, thank you for welcoming me back as Ridgewood’s Mayor! I am honored, once again, to serve as Mayor of our beautiful Village and I am grateful for your continued support!
Daily Covid-19 updates have been informative and helpful in navigating us through the coronavirus pandemic. Information undoubtedly highlights the importance of following health and safety protocols including proper social distancing along with the use of PPE. Several months ago, I worked with Dylan Hansen (VoR IT Director) on the Village COVID19 reporting system with the purpose of gathering information to better understand the impact of COVID19 on our Village community.

Our first report was disseminated to Village Council members on March 21 and subsequently to the public via social media. Our approach was basic and designed to get information out into the public as quickly as possible. It worked and, I believe, encouraged our residents to follow health protocols. I have compiled information for each of the past months along with the first week of July to reflect the pandemic beginning, peak, and flattening over the past days.
Next week we will revisit the reporting format to make certain information remains meaningful. I appreciate everyone’s patience and, as always, I am open to suggestions. Feel free to email me at sKnudsen@RidgewoodNJ.net
Please continue to stay safe.

  1. Ahh…you weren’t supported by the voters. You were supported by your clique on the council.

  3. Why can’t she send out her updates to the Village email list or do a robocalls call?

Not everyone is on Facebook…. both the young and the old!

Many just want the facts and don’t want to get caught up with what is said on social media.

Others, for their jobs or personal reasons, cannot or don’t want to be on social media.

Come on Susan, be the Inclusive Mayor not the Facebook Mayor of Ridgewood.

  4. So….
    .
    < 10% infection Rate
    .
< 1% death rate for total population
< 1% death rate for long term care patients
0.1% death rate for general public (non long term care)
    .
    Yes.
This is an crisis of epidemic proportions.
Let's impose draconian measures on the general population, destroy businesses and confiscate personal freedoms.

  5. Which personal freedom is being confiscated? Putting up a mask when getting near people? Cmon. This virus may as well be an exaggerated hoax but putting a mask in crowded spaces for a few months is a minor inconvenience.

  6. all she did was summarize what Ramon and Jeff have put together – and is trying to take credit. Oh boy, it’s starting already. Put it up on the Village page where official business belongs not on FB or this Blog

C’mon giving up minor freedoms bit by bit don’t mean anything.
    Get along go along.

    1. these are easy ones for starts, but its above Murphy’s pay grade

First Amendment [Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, Petition (1791)]
Second Amendment [Right to Bear Arms (1791)]
Fourth Amendment [Search and Seizure (1791)]
Fifth Amendment [Grand Jury, Double Jeopardy, Self-Incrimination, Due Process (1791)]
Sixth Amendment [Criminal Prosecutions – Jury Trial, Right to Confront and to Counsel (1791)]
Seventh Amendment [Common Law Suits – Jury Trial (1791)] (see explanation)
Eighth Amendment [Excess Bail or Fines, Cruel and Unusual Punishment (1791)]

for me Murphy violated : The Interstate Commerce Act Is Passed. On February 4, 1887, both the Senate and House passed the Interstate Commerce Act, which applied the Constitution’s “Commerce Clause”—granting Congress the power “to Regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States”—to regulating railroad rates
