Midland Park NJ, the Midland Park Police Department would like to remind you of the ongoing PSE&G and IRS scams. PSE&G and the IRS do not solicit for payment by phone or require payment by gift card. If you receive a phone call from someone representing themselves to be a PSE&G or IRS employee who is requesting money please hang up the phone.
The IRS does not send arrest warrants to local police departments. If you owe money to the IRS you will have received plenty of mail correspondence in the past. YOU WOULD KNOW IF YOU OWE MONEY TO THE IRS!!!!!!
The same holds true for PSE&G, we are all accustomed to paying our utility bills on a monthly basis. If you forgot to pay your utility bill in most cases the utility will send you another mail correspondence or simply add the amount owed to the next months due payment. THEY DO NOT CALL AND ASK FOR MONEY OR GIFT CARDS AS PAYMENT!!!!!
Most of the people who are victims of these scams are elderly. If you have elderly people in your family please speak to them about these scams.
If you need any further information please contact the Midland Park Police 201-444-2300.
Thank you.
People really fall for this ???
