Midland Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of LUIS SAUL YANEZ (DOB: 03/25/1994; single; sign and graphic installer) of Midland Park, NJ on charges of sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Midland Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Powderley.

False Alarm Sends Ridgewood High School into “lockdown”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School was placed into “lockdown” status late Monday morning, 04/17, following receipt of a 911 telephone call reporting the presence of an armed individual wishing to do harm located in the school’s student cafeteria. Ridgewood Police officers rushed to the scene and thoroughly searched the building with the assistance of several nearby police departments; everything was found be in order. Ridgewood Fire department and EMS personnel were on standby outside of the building as a precaution. An investigation of the 911 telephone report’s origin is now underway.

Glen Rock NJ, early Friday December 10th the West Point – The U.S. Military Academy Marathon Team ran through Glen Rock on their trek from West Point to Met-Life Stadium in advance of this Saturday’s Army/Navy game.
The cadets chose to stop at 9/11 Memorials along the route, which included the Glen Rock 9/11 Memorial at Veteran’s Park on Main Street. Thank you to the West Point Cadets for choosing to include and honor Glen Rock’s 9/11 Memorial along their route.

Goffle Road southbound from Godwin Avenue to Lake Street/Wyckoff Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday 7am-4pm starting tomorrow 7/26 and continuing for 2 weeks possibly extending to 3 weeks. There will be limited access to Paterson Ave. and Van Blarcom Avenue. due to the detours. We strongly suggest avoiding the area entirely and find an alternate route if you use Goffle Road. Thank you!
