The truck’s driver was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was reportedly being treated for a life-threatening medical condition; a condition that may have triggered the crash. An adult male passenger in the truck was uninjured. No other vehicles were damaged in the crash, which downed a utility pole and a traffic light stanchion.
The refrigerated box truck sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, and Paramus EMS units responded to the incident along with electric utility and traffic control device repair crews.
