Paramus NJ, the driver of a Nissan Kicks subcompact SUV was transported by a Paramus EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus following an early Friday morning, 10/27, crash in which the Nissan slammed head on into a school bus at the intersection of East Midland Avenue and From Road, Paramus. There were no students on the Bergenfield Board of Education owned bus at the time and the bus driver was uninjured. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by tow trucks. Paramus Fire Department Engine Company #1 attended to a crash related fluid spill. The Nissan’s driver sustained a non life threatening facial injury. Schools open drive carefully .
Paramus NJ, a two (2) vehicle, early afternoon Friday the 13th rollover crash at the intersection of Paramus Road and Starling Court, Paramus temporarily closed Paramus Road in both directions at the crash site. One (1) individual was transported by Paramus EMS to Hackensack University Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit officers righted the KIA SUV that had rolled over after being T-boned by a Honda Pilot. A flatbed tow truck removed both heavily damaged vehicles from the scene.
Paramus NJ, Paramus EMS transported one (1) victim to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus following a two (2) vehicle, Saturday afternoon collision at the intersection of Paramus Road and West Midland Avenue. The victim reportedly sustained non life threatening arm and facial injuries. Both vehicles, a Honda CRV and a Tesla, were towed from the scene. Paramus Police and the Paramus Police Reserves also responded.

Paramus Police, Fire Department, and EMS responded to the incident. The vehicle, a 4-door Volvo sedan, was towed from the scene by a flatbed.
Paramus NJ, a Nissan SUV headed westbound on Route 4 near Spring Valley Road in Paramus on Wednesday morning, 07/12, veered off of the highway, through a steel guardrail, and into a tree. The driver was entrapped upon impact. Officers from the Paramus Police’s Emergency Services Unit worked with Paramus firefighters and Paramus Rescue Squad members to free the heavily entrapped driver from the Nissan. The driver and a rear seat passenger were transported by separate Paramus EMS ambulances to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus for evaluation and treatment. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged Nissan from the scene.

A Temple MedFlight helicopter from Temple University Hospital landed at 1 Veterans Way in Paramus to transport a cardiac critical care patient from Paramus to Philadelphia, PA for continued treatment and care.
Paramus NJ, a 4-door sedan crashed head-on into a tree on West Ridgewood Avenue near Paramus Road late Wednesday morning, 07/05. Paramus Police ESU officers quickly extricated the vehicle’s lone occupant (driver), who was immediately attended to by Paramus EMS members. The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus with the assistance of a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Paramus Police officers at the scene did not say what caused the driver to lose control and hit the tree head on.
Paramus NJ, the 78-year old driver of a Honda SUV and a 10-year old passenger were injured in a late Sunday afternoon, 07/02 crash on Paramus Road near Alpine Drive in Paramus. The driver lost control of the vehicle while heading southbound on Paramus Road and struck a utility pole head on. The child’s mother was also a passenger in the vehicle; she was uninjured. A Paramus EMS ambulance transported the 78-year old to a local hospital. The child was treated on scene and released. A Chevy Equinox was also involved in the crash. Both occupants of that vehicle were uninjured. The Honda and Chevy were both removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. One (1) summons was issued to the Honda driver for careless driving.
Paramus NJ, no injuries were reported by the driver of a Subaru Outback that veered off the road, mounted a guide wire, and crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of East Midland Avenue and Sette Drive, Paramus, on Friday morning, 06/16. The Outback was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. East Midland Avenue between Sette Drive and From Road was closed for an extended period to permit PSE&G to replace the damaged pole. The exit ramp from Route 17 northbound to East Midland Avenue eastbound was also closed in connection with the incident. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS responded to the mishap.
Paramus NJ, a flatbed tow truck driver crashed into a tree after experiencing a medical episode while driving near a former Barnes & Noble store at the intersection of Glen Avenue and Route 17 southbound in Paramus late Tuesday morning, 05/16. The victim was quickly attended to by a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital along with Paramus Police and Paramus EMS personnel. He was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital after on-scene evaluation and treatment. A heavy-duty tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the scene.
Paramus NJ, a Jeep Compass rolled over its driver’s side and crashed through a fence after colliding with a Borough of Paramus sanitation truck on East Ridgewood Avenue near Route 17 at approximately 0915 hours on Tuesday, 03/07. The Jeep’s 23-year old male driver, who self extricated from the vehicle, sustained a minor hand injury in the mishap. No workers riding in the sanitation truck were injured. The truck’s front bumper was damaged during the crash. A Paramus EMS ambulance transported the injured driver to a nearby hospital. The Jeep was righted and removed from the scene by a hydraulic lift tow truck. Paramus Police Department investigated the crash. Paramus Fire Company #1 also responded, as did a unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.
Paramus NJ, Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit officers were forced to break the rear driver’s side window of a GMC SUV to free its unconscious driver after the vehicle careened off of Route 17 southbound on Sunday morning, and crashed into the parking lot of a Starbucks restaurant. A medical episode may have triggered the crash. The driver was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus by a Paramus EMS ambulance. A flatbed tow truck removed the SUV from its predicament.
Paramus NJ, two (2) non life threatening injuries were reported following a early Saturday afternoon, 01/14, collision between a dump truck and an SUV at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Forest Avenue in Paramus. Following impact, the dump truck careened off the roadway onto the front lawn of a nearby single family home. Separate ambulances transported the victims to a local hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by a pair of flatbed tow trucks. Paramus Police Department, Paramus Fire Department, and Paramus EMS personnel and equipment responded to the incident.
Paramus NJ, no serious injuries were reported in the early Friday afternoon, 01/13, crash of mini school bus at mile marker 164.8 southbound on the Garden State Parkway in Paramus. The vehicle had been traveling north on the busy highway, but veered to the left, off of the paved roadway when its driver swerved to avoid another vehicle. It then careened across a grass center median & all southbound travel lanes, and came to rest on the southbound, right side grass shoulder. A series of injury-free, chain reaction, crashes on the Parkway’s northbound side occurred immediately after the mini bus careened off of the highway. Two (2) mini bus occupants were transported by ambulance to a local hospital; injuries were reported to have been non-life threatening in nature. The mini school bus was driven off of Parkway property by a tow truck driver and parked at a nearby hotel. A dozen or so occupants (students and teachers) were transported to the Paramus Park shopping mall to safely await repair of the bus, or the arrival of alternate transportation. A flatbed tow truck winched the vehicle from inside the structure and towed it away. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, Paramus Fire Department, and the Paramus Rescue Squad responded to the mishap.
