Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey has a racial gap in home ownership. Shockingly instead of raising taxes a group called HomeLight is offing a well thought out long term intelligent solution ; more Black realtors.
HomeLight and NAREB created the Black Real Estate Agent Program™ to improve the rate of homeownership for Black Americans. According to research by Deloitte, fewer than 6% of active real estate agents and brokers identify as Black, but more than 11% of the population is Black. The program’s goal is to increase the number of top-producing Black agents in real estate by eliminating barriers to entering the field.
The program provides financial and business support for brand-new Black real estate agents. HomeLight and NAREB will help cover many of the onboarding costs for new agents, including pre-licensing classes, agent exams, and some technology and marketing needs. Program participants will be paired with an established real estate broker who can serve as a mentor and advisor. And we will provide ongoing training and education for new agents above and beyond what they can expect from their brokers.
While we are still not buying the , “systemic racism in real estate” argument broken families and financial illiteracy are clearly epidemic in America and particularly in “Black America” but a new generation of Black Americans are no longer excepting the status quo victimhood and taking matters into their own hands, getting educated and taking the initiative.

All white libs should put money where there their mouth is and vacate their homes in favor of black families. It’s too easy to tell others what they should do to help the “disadvantaged.”
But they ain’t gonna do it of course. Libs are using race to create jobs for themselves. Not help anyone. Formula is simple: use race card to tax productive businesses; position yourself as “redistributor” of wealth; channel tax dollars into unrelated enterprises to enrich yourself. Rinse and repeat. Case in point is recent MLB reallocation. Moved the game from 50% black town to nearly 100% white. All in the name of racial equality no less!
What a sad bunch of jokers. Libs of today are ppl who don’t produce anything of value and have to scam others to make a living. Common hustlers, but with a college degree.
Do you know what it’s a real shame, I grew up in a town very close to Ridgewood that was very wealthy and we had a mix of races, religions, and if they can afford to live at those locations God bless them.
