Hackensack NJ, on Friday morning around 7 AM, emergency responders were called to the intersection of Polifly Road and Route 80 due to a serious motor vehicle accident involving a rollover. Engine 2, Rescue 1, and Deputy 3 promptly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a two-car accident with one vehicle overturned. The incident also resulted in an electric pole being downed, leaving live wires scattered across the area. Fortunately, the driver of the overturned vehicle managed to self-extricate before the fire department arrived.
Firefighters immediately provided first aid to those involved and worked to secure the scene with the help of the Hackensack Police Department (HPD). One individual was transported to Hackensack Medical Center as a precautionary measure. Additionally, PSE&G was requested to respond to address the downed power lines and restore safety.
Engine 2 and Hackensack Police Department remained on the scene to ensure the area was secure until PSE&G could manage the live wires and the overturned vehicle could be safely removed.
