Parsippany NJ, a Morris County high school teacher and local soccer coach, James Wiegand, 43, has been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old student, authorities announced.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation after a school administrator reported the alleged behavior.
School & Coaching Career
Following the investigation, Wiegand was suspended from his teaching position at Parsippany High School and is no longer listed on the school’s staff directory.
🔹 Wiegand previously coached high school boys soccer, earning Morris County Coach of the Year at Parsippany Hills (2018) and Dover (2013).
🔹 He also serves as an assistant coach for Drew University’s women’s soccer team.
Legal Proceedings & Restrictions
Wiegand was released under pretrial monitoring with strict conditions:

✔️ Prohibited from contacting the victim
✔️ Banned from being unsupervised with children
