Reader says , “I think that Mrs. Hauck is the most egregious example of Ridgewood’s poor representation. While negotiating the Village’s settlement of the Hospital’s lawsuit against us, she gave Valley virtually everything they’ve ever asked for – even after Valley acknowledged that their expansion will be detrimental to Ridgewood (but good for the region – yay!). I understand that Mrs. Hauck has deep affection for and a long affiliation with Valley, but as a Council person she should be looking out for the people she was elected to represent. It’s a shame that the Village will be changed forever over the handful of votes that she won by.”
Why are those mediation meetings exempt from the public, the residents knowing what Hauck and Knudsen said and how the other side, Valley, responded. There must be some recorded copy.
Why do those meetings have to be confidential.
Also, why was Hauck allowed to do the mediation since she has such a close relationship to Valley?
When I first heard that she was chosen I wanted to ask about it, but didn’t. I wonder how other people felt at the time. I mean there are major organizers from Concerned Residents of Ridgewood who said nothing.
Only the terms of the mediated settlement between Valley Hospital and the Planning Board is known at this moment and Ms. Hauck had nothing to do with that negotiation. It was PB Chairman Nalbantian and Vice Chairman Joel.
Ms Hauck and Ms. Knudsen are the two VC members negotiating Valley Hospital’s suit against the Village Council. We understand that a court date is set for early May. At that time we will know more about that case.
In the meantime, CRR has not stopped their efforts and are encouraging people to show up to Monday’s PB meeting. They are also working on educating a whole new group of younger parents that are less familiar with this issue.
