Wallington NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ELIEZER BISONO AGUILERA (DOB: 6/26/2000; single; laborer) of 2605 Bainbridge Ave., Apt. 2D, Bronx, NY on charges of aggravated arson, risking widespread injury or damage, and arson. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Wallington Police Department under the direction of Chief Carmello Imbruglia.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the Wallington Police Department and the Wallington Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire located at 65 Morrissee Avenue within their town. First responders arrived, located and extinguished a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado and a 2016 Kia Optima that were on fire in a residential neighborhood. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit was notified, and the Arson Squad responded to the scene. The subsequent investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wallington Police Department revealed that ELIEZER BISONO AGUILERA set the fire.
On Thursday, January 19, 2023, AGUILERA was located in the Bronx, NY by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wallington Police Department with assistance and coordination from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and Port Authority Police Department.
ELIEZER BISONO AGUILERA was charged with second-degree aggravated arson, N.J.S.A. 2C:17-1a(2); second-degree causing or risking widespread injury or damage in a residential area, N.J.S.A. 2C17-2c; and third-degree arson, N.J.S.A. 2C:17-1b(2). AGUILERA was remanded to the custody of the New York City Department of Corrections pending extradition to Bergen County for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the Wallington Police Department, New York City Police Department, and Port Authority Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
