Paramus NJ, Prosecutor Mark Musella announced today the arrest of MICHAEL J. KALOUDIS (DOB: 06/10/1988; single; unemployed) of 19 Bedford Avenue, Stanhope, NJ and ANGELA M. LOPEZ (DOB: 04/27/1985; single; unemployed) of 603 Lincoln Boulevard, Middlesex, NJ on charges of Burglary and Theft. The arrests are the result of a three-month investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
In April 2019, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad (“BCPO SIS”) initiated an investigation into a series of concession stand burglaries at Little League fields, recreational centers, and municipal pools in Bergen County and throughout New Jersey, which appeared to share the same modus operandi. Specifically, the suspects would force in doors or windows during the overnight or early morning hours and steal cash, food and beverages, and concession stand appliances and tools.
Through evidence obtained by law enforcement agencies throughout New Jersey, MICHAEL J. KALOUDIS and ANGELA M. LOPEZ were developed as the primary suspects in over forty concession stand burglaries.
As the result of the investigation, on Monday, June 24, 2019, detectives from the BCPO SIS located and arrested KALOUDIS and LOPEZ in Wayne, New Jersey. Each was charged with eleven counts of Burglary, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, crimes of the 3rd degree and one count of Theft, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C: 20-3A, a crime of the 3rd degree. There are pending Burglary and Theft charges for both KALOUDIS and LOPEZ in other New Jersey counties.
KALOUDIS and LOPEZ were remanded to the Bergen County jail pending a detention hearing in Hackensack, NJ on Friday, June 28, 2019.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the following law enforcement agencies for their assistance in this investigation: Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, Saddle Brook Police Department, Teaneck Police Department, Palisades Park Police Department, Lodi Police Department, Paramus Police Department, Fort Lee Police Department, Elmwood Park Police Department, Wood-Ridge Police Department, Totowa Police Department, Stanhope Police Department, Wayne Police Department, Parsippany Police Department, Clifton Police Department, Paterson Police Department, Jefferson Police Department, Morristown Police Department, Little Falls Police Department, Belleville Police Department, Woodbridge Police Department, Livingston Police Department, Madison Police Department, Verona Police Department, Kinnelon Police Department, Bloomindale Police Department, Rockaway Police Department, Manville Police Department, Florham Park Police Department, and the Denville Police Department.
