Ridgewood NJ, following recent updates to COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in advance of the upcoming school year, Governor Phil Murphy today signed an executive order lifting the requirement that school districts, child care settings, and state contractors maintain a policy requiring their unvaccinated workers undergo routine testing. The change will apply to school districts and child care settings immediately, and to state contractors as of September 1, 2022.

Senator Michael Testa a critic of the testing welcomed an executive order signed by the Governor that closes the book on heavy-handed COVID mandates for teachers.

“It was never clear why it took so long, but educators no longer have to worry about unnecessary vaccination requirements and repetitive testing,” said Testa (R-1). “This is a victory for science and personal freedoms, and welcome news for teachers who have one less worry as they prepare to go back to school in the coming weeks.”

Senator Kristin Corrado had previously called on Governor Murphy to immediately lift his COVID-testing mandate for unvaccinated teachers and school employees after the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said today that testing healthy students and employees is no longer recommended.

  1. Signing THAT EO must have gotten his goat………………………..

Not to worry, he’ll find something else.

He still thinks he’s at Goldman Sachs.

  2. Everybody cheers as the Government Overlords bestow a few crumbs of freedom to the serfs.

The serfs are grateful and thankful.
