West Point NY, on Monday morning Colonel Patrick Callahan and members of the New Jersey State Police command staff traveled to West Point to lay a wreath at the grave of H. Norman Schwarzkopf, a West Point graduate, our founder, and first Colonel.
On December 5, 1921, the first graduating class of the New Jersey State Police headed out in a snowstorm to their assignments. Each year to commemorate this important part of our history, troopers make the journey to West Point to honor our first Colonel.

This year marks 102 years that the first troopers set out on patrol to their respective assignments. We are a proud organization rich in tradition and history and the wreath laying is an opportunity to pay respects to not only our founder but to all that have come before us.
