Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey Transit Police Chief Trucillo reminds everyone on the dangers of playing on or near railroad tracks.

Message from New Jersey Transit Police Chief Trucillo:
I hope this message finds everyone doing well and enjoying the summer. I would like to make you aware of something and enlist your help.
Railroad tracks are very dangerous places. People, especially young people are curious, like to explore and sometimes walk on or near the tracks. This can have deadly consequences. It must always be assumed that tracks are active and that a train operating at fast speeds may approach at any moment. My request is that you speak to your children, or any young adult you know and caution them to stay clear of all railroad tracks and the surrounding area.
I would also request that if you ever see anyone near railroad tracks that you call your local police, or the New Jersey Transit Police at 1-888-TIPS-NJT/888-847-7658. You could also Text us at NJTPD (65873). Help us keep everyone safe this summer.
Thank you
Chief Christopher Trucillo
