Ridgewood NJ, the Village’s new website, which costs taxpayers $10k per year in hosting fees (the old website cost nothing), is an abject failure.

The new website is unable to support any historical data (for example: agendas and meeting minutes pre-January 1, 2024),and for some reason, can’t even support newly released e-notices.

Taxpayers are directed to the old website when searching for any information that is historical in nature, and when they want to access the newly released e-notices.

Why must taxpayers foot a $10k year hosting fee when we paid nothing before, and now be forced to toggle back-and-forth between two websites when one was all we needed in the past?  And the much touted website photos can’t even be seen by mobile users!  Jeez!

Although the entire Council is to blame for approving such a disastrous and convoluted online platform, Councilperson Siobhan Winograd was the leader of the pack, and should publicly apologize to taxpayers for screwing this all up.

  2. She could pay the yearly hosting fees by shutting down the Parkwood Deli fire station.

  3. What did it cost to build?

    1. No one is saying.

    2. 40k plus the annual maintenance each year of 10k, plus OT for the IT team to fix it as none of the links work.

      1. If this is true, then someone cut a side deal with a “friend”. As a software engineer, I can tell you unhesitatingly that a website such as this one doesn’t cost anywhere near $40k to build. Also, it does cost $10k per year to “maintain” (unless the up-front specs were garbage, which they appear to have been).

I know high school kids who could build a better site than this for FREE.

Also, the IT team should not get paid “overtime” to fix poorly written code. They should do that as part of their jobs.

Someone got paid to build this site. Follow the money!

  4. Don’t hold your breath waiting for anyone to apologize.

  5. In addition, any Google search that points to the old website are coming up as page not found because the index and links are broken. Did you notice Winograd didn’t report on the new village page at council meeting, she is embarrassed.

  6. Thanks, Siobahn! Once again you have screwed this village. I heard it will cost an extra $10 k per year, plus all of the overtime that the IT people will need to put into fixing it to make it whole. You are a liability NOT an asset despite what you think of yourself.

    1. Whino’s arms must hurt from patting herself on the back all of the time. Fun fact is that she is a disaster that will send this village into a death spiral in lock step with her other bad actors, PauLIES gyro man Vagianos, Worthless Weitz and Pivot Perron who used to be a tree hugger.

  8. Everyone’s laughing, wait until you see how much your taxes are going up.

  9. They worry about the wrong shit, you better lease a few more trucks because two is not gonna cut it. He better get four more.

  10. The whole council is a failure. Be careful when you vote next time.

  11. Oh and Winograd needs to stop posting all of those moronic selfie videos. She has a lot of time on her hands, that is for sure.

    1. The putting green video was the worst one yet.

  12. At least we actually got the physical hard copy calendar!! Grateful for that

  13. now she is selling street signs LOL, yeah that will be a huge revenue generator. Maybe it can pay for Nancy’s $350k shelter at Healthbarn, I mean Habernickle

    1. Mrs. Rubin, I presume? Cheapskate!

  14. We need the “Dumb and Stupid” guy to weigh in and give his seal of disapproval!

  15. Who’s that!

  16. Its 2024.
With all the IT talent out there, it’s amazing that RW was able to hire anyone this incompetent.

Did they hire a friend’s Middle school child to build the web site?

    1. “Did they hire a friend’s Middle school child to build the web site?”

Obviously not, otherwise the website would be working well……….

  17. Fun fact: It sucks! Between that and the calendar, they are batting a thousand!

  18. Fun fact: $10,000 every year to hot this new and useless website

Fun fact: previous website, which was far superior, was hosted in house at no additional expense

Fun fact: we have Winograd to thank for this major expensive failure.

  19. “Tax payers footing the bill” lol based on the 2021 population that’s $0.38 per person per year. This is a joke

    1. What is a joke is that Siobahn had this grand scheme to re-invent this website and spend money on something that was working fine. We are putting lipstick on a pig as one resident always says.
