Caught on Camera: Thief Steals $167K Vintage Sailboat From Jersey City Marina

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau is requesting public assistance to identify a man caught on surveillance camera stealing a classic 40-foot sailboat from Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City.
The Late-Night Heist at Liberty Harbor Marina
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 22, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Surveillance footage captured a male suspect undocking the vessel—a classic 1968 Hinckley Bermuda 40 yawl bearing sail number 4066—before navigating out of the harbor.
Troopers from the Marine Services Bureau (Carteret Station) responded to the stolen vessel report. Authorities released surveillance stills showing the suspect during the operation.
Suspect Description & Clothing Change
State Police described the suspect as a white male who appeared to change outfits during the heist:

Estimated at a value of approximately $167,000, the 1968 Hinckley Bermuda 40 is a highly sought-after vintage fiberglass sailboat built by the Hinckley shipyard.
